About · Dru Patel, founder

Good design goes all the way through.

I'm Dru, a product designer by training and the founder of Rind. I lead every engagement personally, from first sketch to live results, so the thinking behind the work makes it all the way into what ships.

Why I started Rind

Good work kept unravelling between teams.

Across agencies, I watched the same mistakes repeat: clunky handovers, and builds that lost the thinking behind the original idea.

So I kept the decisions together. How it should look and feel, what matters to the business and how it actually works, held by one person from start to finish.

The same idea, two ways

Three handovers. A little is lost at each one.

Each team picks up where the last one stopped, from a file or a screenshot. By the campaign, the idea has drifted a long way from the sketch.

Why Rind

The name is how I work.

Rind reflects how I work: peeling back the layers to understand a business, then connecting what people see with the systems and thinking underneath.

  1. What people seeThe brand, the website and the campaigns.
  2. The systems underneathThe CRM, the automation and the reporting.
  3. The thinkingThe goals, the process and the decisions behind them.

How I got here

Three strands, one line.

  1. Design

    Trained as a product designer.

I studied product design at Brunel, with design placements at Dyson and Jaguar Land Rover. That's where I learned that how something works is part of how it looks.

  2. DesignMarketing

    Seven years in-house at Humax.

From digital designer to marketing manager, including the launch of Humax Aura. The work grew from how a product looks to how people find it and how the business measures it.

  3. DesignDevelopmentMarketing

Then Rind, to join them up.

Design, development and marketing under one senior lead, measured against the commercial goal. My taste, judgement and technical ability, in the same room as the decisions, so the idea survives the build.

Dyson, Jaguar Land Rover and Humax are Dru's own career, not Rind clients.

Working with me

You'll always know who's doing the work.

I lead every engagement personally.

You get the senior person, not a pitch team, from the first conversation to the results report.

A small number at a time.

So each one gets senior attention. If I can't start when you need me, I'll say so up front.

Specialists, when the work needs them.

You'll know who they are and what they're doing before they start, and I review their work.

Practical AI, where it saves real time.

We map the process with your team first, then decide what can be automated and what should stay human.

A short conversation is the best place to start. If Discovery is the right next step, we'll tell you what it would cover and what it would cost.
